Hanukkah begins November 27 with the second day being on Thanksgiving Day. This is the first time in 125 years that they have overlapped. Dana Gitell, Marketing Specialist  said, “It’s just a day when Jews and the rest of America are celebrating on the same day. It’s an opportunity for us to really celebrate the Jewish American experience, and to give thanks in America for the religious freedom we enjoy.”

The Lompoc Interfaith Alliance’s Thanksgiving Service will be conducted November 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Lompoc, 925 North F Street. Participants will be from the following faith organizations: Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian, Islam, Judaism, Latter Day Saints, and American Indians. A time of fellowship and interaction will follow. You are invited to being refreshments to share in the Fellowship Hall. Anyone in the community is invited to attend.  An offering for the Food Bank will be received.
